What is Neuro Linguistic Programming?

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is widely accepted; providing ways to approach learning, choice and change. It is the study of excellence and offers numerous techniques that enable us to improve our lives.

It was developed in America in the early 1970s by Richard Bandler (a computer scientist) and John Grinder (professor of linguistics; interested in cognition). They modelled three successful therapists to identify exactly what they did to consistently achieve excellent results :
• Fritz Perls, psychologist and originator of Gestalt therapy;
• Virginia Satir, the force behind family therapy; and
• Milton Erickson, world famous hypnotherapist.

From these studies they formulated techniques that anyone can use to replicate the results. Subsequently we are able to understand how and why we do the things we do and use techniques to change unwanted habits and behaviours; personally and professionally. NLP is acronym :
